Panorama Vera Rubin

Photo: This image taken by Opportunity's panoramic camera shows Victoria Crater from Duck Bay. The rover reached Victoria on the 951st sol (September 27, 2006) after traveling 9.28 kilometers from its landing site at Eagle Crater. Victoria is about 800 meters wide, about 40 times wider than Eagle Crater. The south face of the 6-meter-high Cape Verde promontory is visible on the left side of the crater's inner wall, about 50 meters from the rover. On the north face, the 15-meter-high stack of stratified rocks called Cabo Frio is visible on the right side of the wall. This mosaic was taken during sols 952 and 953 (September 28 and 29, 2006). Crater Lists

An impact crater is a depression of more or less circular shape resulting from the collision of an object on another of sufficient size that it is not completely destroyed by the impact. When the depression is much shallower than wide, it is called an impact basin.
